The Abe’s Garden campus plan on the 7.41 acre Park Manor property at 115 Woodmont Boulevard includes a comprehensive facility to care for adults with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, residential assisted living and acute skilled care, and senior independent living apartments.
Park Manor, Nashville’s first senior independent living apartment building currently includes 84 apartments. In the coming months, the second floor of Park Manor will be converted to a non-memory care assisted living center.
The cognitive care center that will be known as Abe’s Garden at Park Manor, designed by Manuel Zeitlin Architects in collaboration with Hawkins Partners, Inc. landscape architects and Interior Design Associates Inc., will have 40 suites for residents suffering from Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and will be home to a quality day care center for up to 24 individuals with Alzheimer’s disease..
Working with leading professionals in the fields of geriatrics, pharmacology, nursing, senior living and physical therapy, architect Manuel Zeitlin has designed a building that encourages independence but is sensitive to the special challenges of those with memory loss.
Understanding that Alzheimer’s residents like to wander, Abe’s Garden will include interior courtyards, connected by one looped sidewalk. Here, they may enjoy the outdoors in a secure and picturesque area.
The construction of Abe’s Garden and the renovation of Park Manor are expected to take place over an 18-month period. Renovation on the assisted living center is currently underway, with ribbon cutting anticipated in 2012. Groundbreaking on the remaining aspects of Phase I of Abe's Garden is also anticipated in 2012.

Understanding that Alzheimer’s patients like to wander, Abe’s Garden will include interior garden courtyards, connected by one looped sidewalk, allowing residents to safely wander throughout the facility & interact with one another.
