Model

Multi-disciplinary research and industry best practices shaped the person-centered care model and purpose-built campus of Abe’s Garden®. Abe’s Garden® is the first memory care center in the United States dedicated to establishing a national model of care that elevates residential, day and community-based programs for those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD).

Abe's Garden Community

Abe’s Garden® was built from the ground up with input from aging-design professionals and the specific needs of those with ADRD in mind.

A wide range of intentional engagement opportunities are offered from morning to evening every day for all stages of cognitive and physical health.

Direct observations of staff/resident interactions, the effectiveness of programs, and resident well-being are continually assessed and improved as needed.

Employees benefit from favorable staffing ratios, evidence-based training, a proprietary workweek/compensation model, and a competency-based career ladder.

Abe’s Garden® goes beyond residential services with offerings that include day programs, in-home support, and free educational caregiving videos.

Our full-time licensed clinical social worker helps guide families through the journey of having a loved one with ADRD by providing emotional support and strategies to maximize quality time together.

Abe’s Garden® collaborates with Vanderbilt Center for Quality Aging faculty to establish best practices in dementia care and co-author published research papers.

Helen Crow, Oklahoma chapter, Alzheimer’s Association
“I'm so impressed to see all of the things you are doing at Abe's Garden®. Every little detail is intentional, always keeping the residents and the disease in mind.”
Nic Rudd, Abe’s Garden chef/baker
“Once I [started working at Abe’s Garden®] and they offered the training courses, I took them so I can better understand [the residents] and figure out where residents are coming from.”
Kenna Niles, an AGCG participant’s wife
“As [my husband] has transitioned through the different stages of his disease, the [Abe’s Garden®] Community Group has made the single biggest impact. It has helped him to see that he can still contribute, make friends and enjoy himself.”
