Fall officially begins on Wednesday, September 22, and if you’re like most of us, you’re ready to get out and enjoy your favorite fall activities – many of which were probably canceled last year. Although we’re still not back to “normal,” many of Nashville’s favorite events and festivals will be open and ready for business this season.
“Some of Nashville’s most treasured fall events will be taking place in 2021, and I know our residents are looking forward to them,” says Judy Given, Senior Director of Campus Development for Abe’s Garden Community, a senior living community in Nashville, TN. “We’re currently looking at what’s available and seeing how we can bring the fun of the season to those who call us home.”
In honor of falling leaves, freshly picked apples and pumpkin spice lattes, we’ve put together a list of some favorite Nashville activities taking place this fall.. As we know, things could change very quickly, so before you head off to any of these events and activities, be sure to check their websites to make sure the information is still up to date.
Things To Do All Autumn Long
If you want to do something every day of fall, you’re in luck – Nashville has something happening every day of the season. Whether you’re in town for a few days or you’re a lifelong resident, here are some of the ongoing events and activities that take place in the Music City during this time of year.
Find Fall Food and Fun
No fall season would be complete without a trip to a corn maze or pumpkin patch. Luckily, Nashville has plenty of those to satisfy your fall fun needs. Shuckle’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, Walden Pumpkin Farm and Lucky Ladd Farms are all open for business starting in September.
September Sundown
It should come as no surprise that live music performances are staples during the fall months – and all year round. This new event series, presented by Musicians Corner, takes place every Thursday and Friday evening in September from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. It’s fun for the whole family with vendors, local artists, food trucks and, of course, live music.
Nightlight 615
From the beginning of August until the end of October, Nashville holds a 21+ outdoor movie night at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park Amphitheater. Enjoy your favorite adult beverages, partake in the city’s best food trucks and feast your eyes on some classic films for the grown-up crowd.
Thursday Night Out
Enjoy a perfect pairing of live music, art and nature at the ever-popular Thursday Night Out series. From May to October, attendees can stroll through the Ann & Monroe Carell Jr. Family Sculpture Trail at Cheekwood while enjoying a drink from one of the many bar stations.
Cheekwood Harvest
Nothing says fall in Nashville quite like Cheekwood Harvest. Taking place at Cheekwood Estate and Gardens, you’ll find activities and experiences designed to appeal to kids, adults and families alike. Marvel at the Pumpkin House and Village, check out our scarecrows and be amazed at the Mum Explosion. Cheekwood Harvest runs from September 18 through October 31.
Favorite Annual Festivals
Come gather for one of our city’s many treasured annual fall events. There’s a little something for everyone, whether you’re a craft beer fanatic, a film buff or simply have a sweet tooth.
East Nashville Beer Festival
On September 18, East Park will transform into a beer lover’s paradise. Enjoy samples from 50+ breweries both local, national and international. You’ll also enjoy performances from talented local musicians, meals from Nashville’s best food trucks and much more.
Pilgrimage Festival
The Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival takes place in Franklin, Tennessee, and it celebrates the music, culture, and best food in the area. Some of the musicians in this year’s lineup include The Black Keys, Dave Matthews Band, Cage the Elephant and others. This year’s festival will take place on September 25 and 26.
Nashville Film Festival
This week-long celebration of innovation, music and art filmmakers is one of the longest-running film festivals in the United States. Join screenwriters and music makers from Tennessee and around the world from September 30 to October 6.
Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival
The Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival is a vibrant celebration of what makes Nashville a great place to live. Taking Place on October 2, attendees will enjoy a variety of dance and musical performances on different stages, multicultural food vendors offering authentic and exotic tastes, hands-on activities for kids, a marketplace and much more.
Tennessee Honey Festival
The Tennessee Honey Festival is an annual traveling honey festival, created to celebrate local honey, raise awareness of bees and beekeepers, and share honey, art, music, education and inspiration with the community. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind event filled with music, arts, vendors and, of course, honey. This year’s event takes place on October 3.
Pumpkinfest 2021
Downtown Franklin will yet again sprout full of pumpkins this year. The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County’s Annual Pumpkinfest, Middle Tennessee’s largest family fall festival, stretches throughout downtown offering fun, food and – you guessed it – pumpkins. This year’s event takes place on October 30.
Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival
Taking place right before Thanksgiving, this festival is a five-day event featuring local songwriters performing in 8 different venues. Get your groove (or blues or jazz or etc.) on November 16-19.
